Scars.

Scars.
Like this tree, we all have them. Some are on the surface, and others leave deep marks on the soul. No matter where the scars remain, they serve as a reminder to you and me. They point us to the One who heals both body and soul.

God is the source of all health and wholeness. He makes all things right, through his Son Jesus who knows what it’s like to have scars. Even on his resurrected body, Jesus revealed the wounds still on his hands, feet, and side. Do you wonder if Jesus looks at the marks and thinks of you and me?

I believe his scars remind Jesus, not of our sins, but of how much he loves and forgives us. Maybe we can do the same. Let’s notice our scars and be grateful for God’s healing and forgiveness. Then let’s always remember to run to the one who loves us freely and makes us whole. Scars and all.

“For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard. Yet God, in his grace, freely makes us right in his sight. He did this through Christ Jesus when he freed us from the penalty for our sins.” ‭Romans‬ ‭3:23-24‬ ‭NLT‬‬
