After Jesus died, a brave and wise man named Joseph Of Arimathea came to the soldiers to ask for Jesus’ body. Joseph was a disciple who had secretly believed in Jesus and wanted to give Him a proper burial. He was the only one who stepped up to do the right thing.
So, Joseph wrapped Jesus’ body in brand-new cloth and buried Him in Joseph’s own new tomb. A tomb is like a cave dug out of the hillside.
A huge stone was rolled across the entrance of the tomb so that no one could get in or get out. It was almost dark on Friday night. Joseph went away sad because Jesus was dead.
