Who is your rock?
Can you name one person who’s perfect, doesn’t change, and never disappoints? Fortunately, I’m privileged to know plenty of delightful, loving, and caring people. I’m even more blessed to call many of them family. But let’s be honest. People wobble, much like a rock pile. Not one of them can be my rock.
God alone is my solid Rock. He’s the only one who qualifies. Because He’s completely complete, God never changes. I can count on it.
When life gets wobbly, when it crumbles around us like an earthquake, you and I have the open invitation to steady ourselves on the Rock. He is the stable place we can firmly stand in this ever-changing, ever-disappointing imperfect world. Yes, God can, and will, hold us securely during the most challenging times in our lives. I don’t know how he does it. But I’ve discovered, when I put my trust in Him, it feels like peace.
Do you need a reliable place to stand? Please, stand on my rock. The Rock. You and I will never be more secure.
